Hello there!
We enjoyed more beautiful weather in January and welcomed lots of visitors to the beaches of Clifton and Glen. We ensured that beaches, streets, and other public spaces of Clifton were kept clean and welcoming, uplifting 1.9 tons of rubbish from these spaces.
Most importantly, our ongoing reviews of public safety deployments showed real impact – theft out of motor vehicles dropped to zero and petty crime on the beaches dropped significantly too. Keeping our focus on ensuring that Clifton and Glen Beach were viewed as safe and welcoming, our public safety team attended to 323 bylaw violations, with a further 544 fines being issued by Law Enforcement.
Our public safety team did what they could to educate dog owners around beach access times for dogs, recording 57 interactions. We ensured that glass items and speakers brought to the beaches were packed away, minimising both the risk of injury to beachgoers and the level of noise disruption.
Our 24x7x365 control room remains an integral part of our public safety programme, alerting the team on the ground to 472 potential issues on the street, in the car parks, on the beaches and in other public open space.
Wishing you a happy February!
