This month’s impact report reflects a significant drop in visitors to the area, resulting in less litter and incidents in the public open space. We’re using the colder months for teams to take annual leave, for training to be done with teams and for planning and activation projects as well as programme adjustments.
Happy autumn! The CID team continued to show impact this past month, uplifting 1 ton of rubbish from the public open spaces, preventing 268 units of alcohol from being consumed in the public open space and assisting SAPS with 2 arrests.
February was a calmer month in the CID precinct, giving everyone in the CID team a chance to draw breath after a busy festive season.
We enjoyed more beautiful weather in January and welcomed lots of visitors to the beaches of Clifton and Glen. We ensured that beaches, streets, and other public spaces of Clifton were kept clean and welcoming.
Ahhh, December… the month of end of year celebrations, gatherings of family and friends, trips to the beach, festive get togethers and a chance to recharge. Not so for the Clifton CID team, who were on duty 24x7x365, doing everything we could to keep Clifton safe and clean and helping to ensure that visitors and residents enjoyed the season safely and happily.
Hello summer! November brought scorching temperatures and lots of wind to Clifton, along with loads of people enjoying the beaches.
Clifton has become the party place for scholars, matriculants and students to come and let off steam before their exams, resulting in wide traffic congestion, litter, a range of bylaw violations, serious crime incidents and massive disruption to residents and other visitors.
Our AGM was held on the 16th of September 2025 with our impact and achievements being positively received by members in attendance. We’re very proud to deliver our services, programmes and support to the community and visitors alike.
Our AGM takes place on Tuesday 16th of September 2025 at 16h00 at the CID offices. If you’re not able to attend in person, please consider giving your proxy to someone who will be attending. August’s better weather brought people to the beaches and public spaces of Glen Beach and Clifton.
July presented us with multiple weather-related challenges in the public spaces – from collapsing steps, to burst pipes, water supply disruptions and many streetlight outages.
