The first storms and high winds of winter certainly kept the CID teams busy – clearing rock falls, removing debris from drains, and alerting the City 24/7 to falling trees, overflowing drains, burst pipes and sewage related issues.
Our public safety teams were involved in 3 arrests during the month of May, identifying, tracking, and apprehending suspects through the integration of technology and human skills.
High seas washed out a lot of kelp, bringing with it a lot of litter washout from the sea. Clearing this was a focus of the team, resulting in just over 1 ton of refuse being removed from beaches and other public places.
Failing street lights remain an issue in the Clifton precinct, with 13 individual issues reported to the City during the month.
Stay warm!
