July proved just how peaceful Clifton becomes in the winter!
We recorded no crime incidents, and our litter collection was down by two thirds. Our teams attended to mudslides, fallen trees, clearing of impassable pathways and promenades and car accidents – all of which were weather related. Our public safety teams completed two South African Qualifications Authority unit standards as part of their ongoing professional development and in preparation for season and have enjoyed some leave.
We welcomed Law Enforcement Officer Mogamad Benjamin back to the CID team and welcomed a new Law Enforcement Officer – Lundi Ncumeza.
The CID went through its first annual financial audit and received an unqualified audit report. A steering committee comprising myself, board members and property owners from the apartment blocks on the sea-side of Victoria Road has been formed and had an initial meeting with the City of Cape Town’s CID branch to kick start the proposed boundary extension process. We’ll keep you posted on this project.
The CID team is gearing up for the summer season and looking forward to some sunshine!
