We’ve looked back at the CID impact over the past 3 months as compared to last year, with a focus on public safety. Crime incidents (as reported by us) are down 83%,from 58 to 10. Breaking this down further, general theft is down from 22 incidents to 1, thefts of cell phones / tablets are down from 10 incidents to 1, robberies / muggings are down from 4 to none, theft of motor vehicles and motorbikes are down from 2 to none and theft out of motor vehicle / theft of car parts down from 6 to 1.
Our 2 law enforcement officers have also had significant impact in the past 3 months, issuing 571 fines, with many related to consuming alcohol in public and illegal trading.
Through the combined efforts of our public safety officers and law enforcement officers, 2 180 units of alcohol were taken as abandoned or confiscated from the beaches and public places.
