Winter certainly has Clifton in its grip!

The beaches are changing shape and are covered in seaweed, and we’ve experienced some high tides and torrential downpours.

Despite the weather, the Clifton CID team has been hard at work, ensuring that we continue to deliver on our service promise to residents and visitors.

Our public safety team was part of joint operations on Victoria Road in Clifton alongside SAPS, Metro Police, Traffic and Law Enforcement in June 2025. The operations were focused on reckless and dangerous driving, unlicensed vehicles, noise disturbances and other traffic offences – resulting in 60 vehicles being stopped and 54 fines issued.

Our cleaning service filled 613 bags with litter from the public spaces.

Our law enforcement officers issued 225 fines, for a range of bylaw offences including public indecency, drinking in public, not stopping at stop signs, parking offences and unlicenced vehicles.

Our financial year ended at the end of June and we’re preparing for our annual financial audit and to write our annual report. We look forward to sharing our story of 2024/25 with you at our upcoming AGM.

Please save the date of the AGM: Tuesday the 16th of September 2025 at 16h00 at the CID offices.

Stay safe and warm in July!
